I haven't been able to sleep through the night in two weeks. I wake up about this time every night, and can't fall back asleep for an hour or so. It's getting a little old. Today, I just thought I'd share the pain.

But, the moon is a lovely sliver of a thing, framed squarely by the window. Which, I would have missed it had I been asleep. A small little crescent of a bright side to insomnia.

I am very well-acquainted with 4am. For about a year, I woke up at that same time. I sincerely hope your relationship with that hour ends soon--even if the moon is lovely then. And it is. :)

I recommend melatonin tablets for getting to sleep. They're gentle, so they don't knock you out or make you groggy the next day, but they relax you just enough to get to sleep without hours of tossing and turning.

Thanks for the sympathy and ideas - things have regulated a little bit. I've started going to bed earlier, that's helping. I'm getting up around 6-ish, but that I can live with.
